Farsighted people at many state tourism offices are turning dogward to promote the benefits of travel to their states. From Virginia to Nebraska, Arkansas to Oregon, states across the nation are catching on that dog lovers—who are inclined to include their dogs in their vacation plans—are a perfect target audience.
As someone who has traveled in a car from California to DC with 2 dogs, finding pet-friendly things to do in combination with pet-friendly accommodations can be challenging.
For example, a hotel advertising they are pet friendly but the beach they face doesn’t allow dogs, seems pointless. You still need to do your research!
