Texsport King Kot Giant Camping Cop is just that…giant. This is the largest cot I’ve ever slept on and I love it! It doesn’t squeak like the old wood cots and sits higher off the ground than others I’ve used.
Set-up was smooth and easy. Just unfold the legs and slide in the two end rods. The hardest part was getting the last hole of the rod to line-up. That was until I realized one end of the canvas has a wide Velcro-type pocket closure that allows you to loosen or tighten the canvas’ tension. Dah…

Favorite Features:
A good length for me (5’ 8”) and great width. I can actually rest my hands on my stomach and my elbows don’t hit the frame. I always hated that cramped feeling from older camping cots.
The sturdy scissors style legs have very little wobble and nice protective rubber feet. Note that the two ends rods are different lengths. You use the longer one for the end of the canvas that has the Velcro closure pocket. Having the extra length provides for better grip while pulling to align the final hole.
I tried sleeping on those inflatable pads, but this aging body didn’t appreciate it. Camping with my queen sized inflatable is just plain embarrassing and it takes too long to inflate and deflate.
If you’re hesitating, don’t. I wish I had purchased the Texsport King Kot a long time ago.
